Come experience the rich African American Architectural history of Chicago and learn about Chicago’s development of spaces and places from the downtown building scape to Chicago’s south side neighborhoods and prominent buildings that have helped to maintain the African American voice in Chicago’s architectural and social culture. Hosted by INOMA’s very own Susan Ellis, this is an amazing tour you wont want to miss!




Tour will leave from the front of the Palmer House Hotel (17 E Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603). This tour includes return shuttle bus transportation to and from the Palmer House Hotel. The Shuttle Bus will pick up guests on the East side of the Palmer House Hotel entrance along Wabash.

Tickets: This event is NOT INCLUDED in the FULL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION and requires a $25 fee to join on the tour.

Each year NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects) attracts 600+ minority architects, urban designers, community activists and design students from across the country come together in fellowship and support for the annual NOMA conference. 

This year the 46th annual NOMA Conference, NOMA UNBOUNDED – The Convergence of a Legacy, will be held in Chicago, IL. at the historic Palmer House Hotel, October 17th – 20th.  With the convenient location we’re exploring a new and exciting “conference without walls” concept which will leverage 2/3 of our standard conference programs outside the confines of the hotel, and utilize nearby firms, organizations, and venues.
